Circuit Nr. 63

Poor Man's Logic Analyzer

This logic analyzer is called poor man's because the actual logic detector circuit is very simple and inexpensive. In order to display the logical states simultaneously, you use your own oscilloscope. The output of the analyzer circuit is connected to the X and Y inputs of the oscilloscope and the logical states are displayed on the screen in actual 1's and 0's.

Two rows of 8 logic channels appear on the screen. The circuit can monitor and display a total of 16 channels. When an input is not used, a logic 1 appears at its display position. The upper row displays the channels 1 to 8 and the lower row displays the channels 9 to 16.
